-
Do I need to be technical to use this, or need any complicated logins or anything?
-
No, not at all. Domain-Safe.net works completely separately to anything related to your domain name - neither this website, or your use of it, can in any way affect the running of your website or your domain name. Domain-Safe.net simply stores your lists of domain names and their expiry dates - how you manage the information stored here is entirely up to you but you cannot actually change anything to do with your website. Phew!
-
Can I rely on the information about my domain name?
-
We've spent many months making this service as reliable as possible and we're confident that the information you'll see on this site reflects that. However, there's always room for error. Since we look-up the information regarding domains entered here from publically available sources, there is always the chance of errors in transmission, the unavailability of information, or the loss of service at any time. As such we can't be held responsible for this issues.
-
Why is membership free?
-
It's free because we've created a service that we're really proud of and believe that it should be available for everyone to use. If you think we're crazy, maybe you could chat about us on your blog, tell anyone you know who'd be interested all about it, or, if you need lots of extra great features - purchase a Premium subscription!
-
Will I need to buy Premium membership?
-
Premium subscription gives you access to lots of great extra features, like sharing, calendars, notes, domain groups and much more! The free version is great for managing a smaller number of domain names - the Premium version does have a few extras which, if you have a lot of domains or have a need to categorise or store notes or import domain lists and things like that, you'll definitely want to check out.
For more information, see our feature comparison list.
-
Why don't I just use a spreadsheet/database like everyone else?
-
Hey, if a spreadsheet works for you, that's great. All I would say is that if you think that your spreadsheet does enough for you, the free version here does what your spreadsheet does - and more besides!
We'd encourage you to at least try the service, it'll cost you nothing except maybe a couple of minutes. And the cool thing is that with our "export" feature, you can jump straight back into editing and managing by spreadsheet at any time by downloading the information on this site into a .csv file, from there, importing into Excel, Access or pretty much any other database/spreadsheet program.
-
Where are you based? Can I pay using other currencies?
-
We are based in the UK. Payment options are available in British Pounds, US Dollars and Euros. If you use another currency, you can still choose any of those options and PayPal will do a currency conversion for you.
-
How do you know when my domain is going to expire? How do you know the administrative email address contact?
-
When any domain name is registered/purchased from a domain registrar, the person buying the domain will be required to provide certain information. In particular:
-
The buyer will be asked how long to register the domain name for. Most registrars have a minimum term of 1 year.
-
The vast majority of registrars will also demand that an administrative or technical contact's email address is provided. This information is used by your domain's registrar to send email reminders for when the domain name is going to expire.
These details can be read by any person at any time and is made publically visible by the registrar. The registrar stores varying parts of the original registration information in databases which, for simplicities sake, we refer to here as a "Whois server" (there are actually thousands of servers!) It is this information that Domain-Safe.net uses in order to find out the expiry date and administrative contact for domains stored here. We are unable to make any changes to information on the Whois servers, and unable to make any changes to the information stored for any domain name.
-
How can I have multiple expiry email addresses for my domain?
-
Ordinarily, you can't currently have more than one expiry email address for your domain name. However, the ability to create more than one contact is one of the main reasons that Domain-Safe.net was created and you CAN do it here!
This FAQ contains detailed information and continues on another page.

What is your returns/cancellation policy?
-
Please view our Terms and Conditions.
-
Please remove my contact information from your site!
-
Not technically a question, but please read the FAQ titled "How do you know when my domain is going to expire?" on the page here for details as to how the information you see on this website, is gathered. As it is publically accessible information that has not originated from this site, it is not possible for us to remove any email contact information, or expiry information and you must instead contact the original registrar. Please note - we cannot offer support on how to find out from your registrar any details on your behalf.
If you have an account with us and want to remove your details, please simply cancel your account/membership in the "My Account" menu, once logged in.
